Actually it’s a very common question we get at Casual Elegance Photography ®. Many of our clients come in and say they don’t want to do any nudes. Then, after seeing the sample images I have in the studio, have a change of mind and decide to do artistic nudes. Without exception they all love the way they look in their art nude images. It usually gives them more confidence and when we start the boudoir images they are relaxed and ready to get some beautiful images.

I’m very glad that I invested into the software and hardware to allow the images to be shot directly to the computer and display on the monitor as we shoot. Looking at an image on the back of a camera just doesn’t give the client the feeling that they get when it’s full size on a 19″ screen. I use a CRT monitor because I like the fact that it can be seen from more angles than a LCD or LED screen. I know that LED/LCD screens are more common now, and that they have come a long way since the beginning, but I still feel that the CRT screen works best in my situation. I have 2 more CRT monitors sitting in storage just incase one goes bad.

So, when you are ready to Nude or Not Nude, visit Casual Elegance Photography ® and make an appointment for your special photo session.

We’re not new to this business and have been providing boudoir and nude photo services for the past decade and more. So why will this be a cool shoot? For many reasons… first, our studio has a great AC system (smile), but if you are doing nudes, you’ll be even cooler. 🙂 But the main reason this will be a cool shoot is because you’ll be doing some hot photos for the one you love (or even yourself). And you’ll have a fun time doing them. Take a moment to read our client reviews so you can get an idea of how others have felt about their shoot. And when you are finished reading, give us a call and make your appointment today.

So here’s the best gift idea ever for your husband!!!! Give him some classic, classy, sexy artistic nude images of you!!! Never mind the tie or the new set of screwdrivers, give him a gift that he will really appreciate and love for a long time. He may even take you to dinner after he sees what you have done for him this year.

Since artistic nudes don’t normally require makeup because they are more about the celebration of the human body rather than glamour type images, we can probably fit you in this week. And, if you don’t want prints and would rather have a CD of the images, we may even be able to get them done for Father’s Day. But in any case, we’ll give you some ideas how you can give him something on Father’s Day and pique his interest as well. We know how life in general consumes us so we understand the last minute shopping. At Casual Elegance Photography we try to help in any way we can. Call us today or visit our website and send us an email.

Over the past couple of months we’ve added mobile recognition code to our site so that when a person without Flash wants to view the site, it automatically takes them to the HTML version so that they can view practically everything. In today’s environment with iPads, iPhones, smart phones, and tablets, we needed a way to allow seamless viewing of our site. But to see the site in its fullest, it’s best viewed on a laptop or desktop with Flash. There are slide shows and additional content that we had a hard time porting to the HTML site.

I’m considering using a WordPress theme as the basis of the website and hosting it on Fatcow where we host the site now. It’s going to take a while to build it, but I’m hopeful that it will make the viewing great for everyone.

The main focus of Casual Elegance Photography® is Boudoir and Nude photography. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t do other venues of photography too. I started CEP doing headshots and portraits. I still do many headshots and portraits as well as maternity and commercial product photography. If you have a need for any type of photography, just ask.

Visit Casual Elegance Photography® and let us know what you think of the site. While you are there, look over our services, review our client testimonials, and take a peek at the samples of or past work. Then make your appointment using our contact page.

This is a blog I wrote over a year ago, but I felt that I need to re-post it because I have been receiving calls from potential clients who have had bad experiences when doing a boudoir session with another photographer in the past.  I told them that these are the things that they should ask right up front.  I know that this isn’t positively going to make sure that the photographer is the right one, but it will help with the short  list.  I’ve sent them this list of questions to help them get started.

I received a call from a potential client back a while ago and I was actually very delighted that she had such a good list of questions for me before she would hire a photographer – especially one that was going to take intimate photos for her. She had done her homework and said that she wanted to be sure she was dealing with a professional and a real business. Here are some of the questions she asked and the answers I gave her.

1. Do you have a business license? (yes – in Sandy Springs where my studio is)
2. Are you a corporation and in which state? (yes – Mark L. Anderson, LLC – Georgia – DBA Casual Elegance Photography®)
3. Do you have insurance? (yes – liability and loss of property)
4. When did you start the business? (2000 – I have been specializing in Boudoir and Intimate photography since 2001. I don’t shoot weddings and have not just added Boudoir photography to my menu of services.  I take the business of Boudoir and Intimate Photography seriously and professionally.)
5. Do you have a Website? – she was referred by a friend (yes – casualelegancephotography.com and my email address is mark@casualelegancephotography.com)
6. Do you have a studio? Can I meet with you ahead of the shoot and see your studio? (yes I have a 15oo sq ft studio in a small quite business park – I encourage that you come in ahead of time to discuss a shoot.  It’s always a good idea to see if you click with someone.  You can see examples of my work and we can go over ideas.)
7. Do you have a Makeup Artist? (yes – I utilize the services of several in the area but work closely with 3 – all licensed estheticians. They all believe in cleanliness and ensure their equipment and products are cleaned between uses. These Makeup Artists and I have worked together for over 10 years.)
8. Can I bring someone to the shoot with me? (YES – I highly encourage you to do that)
9. Will my photos be sold or used by you? ( NO! I do not use client images. If a client wants me to use an image I require them to sign an agreement for me to do so. I don’t even allow anyone other than the client to order prints or a CD)

Another few questions that should also be asked are:

1.  What forms of payment do you accept? (I accept most major credit cards, checks, and cash)

2.  Do you provide Prints or just photos on a CD?  (I can provide either or both.  I can also provide books, calendars, and canvas prints.)

3.  What are your hours of operation?  (I’m by appointment only and have appointment hours 7 days per week and on holidays)

She had a bunch more questions but they were related to the process, the shoot, and the timing. As I said, I was delighted that she was taking the task of hiring a photographer so seriously and I gladly answered her questions. It made me very happy that I had followed all the right steps to build my business correctly, and that Casual Elegance Photography® had all the right answers.

Sometimes I miss the good old days when after a shoot you dropped off the rolls of film and the lab did all the work.  Now, with digital, I do all the work and take on all the expense.  Just this last week, what started out as an easy upgrade has turned into an expensive ordeal.   I upgraded my main editing machine to be able to take advantage of the newer versions of Photoshop.  As I was reloading the system I soon realized that many of the “plug-in” tools I use won’t work with the newer system.  I contacted the manufacturers and was able to get two of the tool upgrades, but at an additional cost.  A couple of the tools don’t have any upgrades and don’t plan any.  So now I have to figure out how to do the same thing without the tools.  But that’s just the beginning of the money story…

It seems that the latest version of Photoshop (CS6 Beta) doesn’t support 32 bit operations.  Well, even the newest versions of the tools don’t want to work with 64 bit, so I had to purchase Photoshop CS5 which will support 32 bit.  But while I was shopping for CS5 I found Lightroom 4 at a special price with free shipping if I ordered it with the CS5 order.  Yikes!!!  What started out as a small upgrade purchase has turned into a bank account nightmare!  🙂

But it’s all good.  The system is up and running, I’m learning the new versions (and Lightroom – never used it before), and I’m trying to heal my bank account.   It struck me that the good old days were so much easier in some ways.   Yes, you paid for the developing and printing. You had to wait to see what you had actually taken. And you  had to look at the images in your hand and not on a computer.  But it was a different day and age and a more simple overall process.  Even though, I still love the new digital age.  I wonder what Ansel Adams would do with a digital darkroom.

65 of them!   Tomorrow we will be doing an on location shoot for a corporation who wants a head shot of every employee.  When you do the math, that will be about 8 – 10 per hour which is a great pace.  The key will be to get at least 3 good shots of everyone and make it a “semi production line” to take advantage of every minute.

We do lots of head shots at Casual Elegance Photography® but this will be the largest event like this we have done.  Normally we get 1 – 3 people in a day for head shots, but 65 will be a record.  We’ll arrive to the location with our portable studio, set up, and start shooting right away.  I’m looking forward to getting great results!
